Unpacking hunger, protecting development cooperation in Germany

Unpacking hunger protecting development cooperation in germany

January 2026

This deck contains findings from a a number of experiments co-designed with partners in Germany. It ‘unpacks’ hunger in order to better understand public attitudes when hunger is tested separately from other core development issues (like WASH, access to healthcare, education). It also re-examines differences in aid rhetoric, namely development versus humanitarian aid. Finally, it tests different arguments for protecting development cooperation. Data was collected in November 2025 and presented to partners in Germany in January 2026. To see the raw data, including sociodemographic splits, click here.
